History:
Inselkönig was approved at the 1968 Neumünster inspections. He then stood at various locations throughout Germany until late 1984. While in Germany he produced a number of registered Trakehner mares, including two states premium mares, he was also approved for the Hannoverian breed. In August 1984, Inselkönig was imported to Canada by Ahrensberg Trakehner Horse Farm in Ontario. In 1986 he moved to Wisconsin to stand for Impulsion Unlimited until sometime in 1990 when he came into the possession of Pete Freisinger. He remained at stud at Freisinger's Wisconsin farm still covering mares at the ripe old age of 32 when he died in late 1998. Frozen semen was available through 1999.
Comments from German Trakehner Stallion Book:A very well-made stallion, perfect in every respect. With good bone for the foundation; harmonious, broad, deep body with good coupling and well-muscled, symmetrical croup. Valuable breeding stallion type.
