Possible afternoon second farm tour to Galten Farm (50 miles from Toronto) if there is sufficient interest and weather permits. Will not start before 1:00 p.m.

Note: All horses must be removed from the Royal Canadian Riding Academy by 3:00 p.m. unless other boarding arrangements are made with the facility. The telephone number is: 905-898-7743. Horse owners should use this number to make stall reservations.

• For those of you flying to Toronto, use Lester B. Pearson International Airport (formerly Toronto International) located at the junction of highways 401 and 427.
• For attendees arriving by air, but not wishing to rent cars, you will need to use taxi service from the airport to the hotel. The hotel has a limo service for the return to the airport. It costs $45 - $48 Canadian per trip and can be arranged at the hotel front desk.
• For drivers from the U.S., be aware that speed limits are in kilometers (80 kmh = 50 mph) and gasoline is sold in liters (3.8 liters = 1 U.S. gallon).
• The GST (goods and services tax) on most goods purchased by visitors to Canada is refundable by way of mailed-in application. You can pick up a refund application in the hotel lobby.
• Entry into Canada — From the United States: U.S.-born citizens should carry a passport or an original birth certificate plus photo ID; naturalized citizens need a passport or the original naturalization certificate with photo ID; permanent residents (who are not citizens) need their alien registration card. Visitors to Canada from countries other than the U.S. must have a valid passport; a visa may also be required. For additional information on visas go to http://cicnet.ci.gc.ca.
• Returning to the US with purchases — Every 30 days, returning U.S. citizens are allowed to bring back $400 (retail value) in merchandise duty-free, provided they have been out of the U.S. for 48 hours. This amount can include one carton of cigarettes, 100 cigars (not Cuban), two kilograms of smoking tobacco and one liter of liquor, provided the buyer is 21 years of age. If the length of the stay is less than 48 hours, $200 in merchandise may be taken back to the U.S. duty-free (including five ounces of alcohol and 50 cigarettes). The following items are not permitted into the U.S.: Cuban or Iranian products, fruits and vegetables, and uncooked grains. Goods bought in Canada but manufactured in the U.S. are duty-free and not included in the basic exemption. Original handmade crafts and works of art are also exempt; however, a receipt of purchase may be required. For further information on U.S. customs regulations, please call 905-676-2606.
• Visitors from other countries should check the customs regulations of their country by contacting the appropriate government department.
• Foreign currency can be changed into Canadian funds at any bank or exchange house. Some identification may be required. Credit cards are accepted virtually everywhere.
• Pets and horses must be up-to-date on vaccinations and have recent health certificates.
