Clean up and move out

We have 11 mares for inspection and 3 young horse evaluations. I stallion for inspection.

We will be having a Mare and Young Horse Show on Thursday morning. The in hand classes will be the same as previous years with the mares judged as breeding animals and the horses 3 years old and under being judged on their suitablilty as sporthorses. There will be judges sheets similar to those at recognized Dressage Sportbreeding shows. Hilda Gurney has agreed to judge the mare and young horse classes.

We will also have a dressage suitability undersaddle class this year. This class is open to 3 year old and older horses. The class will be split into age groups of 3 & 4 year olds and 5 year olds and over if there are 3 or more entries in both age groups. Class will be judged first at the walk, trot and canter. Older horses may be asked to do lengthings at the trot and canter. Horses will then be stripped and conformation will be judged. The judge may ask the age of your horse. Judges for this class will be Margo Hoagland and Jean Brinkman.

Horses originating in CA do not require a coggins test as per CA law.

The hunter and jumper stake classes will be held again this year and we are currently looking for people who are willing to sponsor these classes. Please contact Pam if you would like to contribute to the prize money for these classes. Thank you to our stake class sponsors to date: Shawnda Nadeau, David Beattie and Anne Marie Mueller.
The purse is currently $1,500.

Due to its success last year we will again have a Jumper Calcutta. The bidding on the winner will be held on Friday afternoon. For those of you not familar with a calcutta, people bid on the horse they feel will win the class. The winning bid money goes into a pot. The high bidder on the winning horse wins a percentage of the pot with the remainder going to the ATA. Last years winner donated his winnings to the ATA as well.
